Candidates must possess a Master’s Degree from a recognized university in one of the following combinations:

  1. M.A. in Hindi with English as a compulsory/elective subject or as the medium of examination at the degree level.

  2. M.A. in English with Hindi as a compulsory/elective subject or as the medium of examination at the degree level.

  3. M.A. in any subject other than Hindi/English with Hindi medium and English as a compulsory/elective subject.

  4. M.A. in any subject other than Hindi/English with English medium and Hindi as a compulsory/elective subject.

  5. M.A. in any subject other than Hindi/English with Hindi and English as compulsory/elective subjects at the degree level.

ISRO JTO 2025 – Exam Pattern & Syllabus

Written Test (100 Marks | 2 Hours)

Part-A: Objective Type (50 Marks)

  • General Hindi and General English

  • Translation of words (Hindi ↔ English)

  • Grammar and usage (Hindi & English)

  • Synonyms & Antonyms

  • Idioms & Phrases

  • Sentence correction and vocabulary

Part-B: Descriptive Type (50 Marks)

  • Two passages for translation (Hindi ↔ English) — 20 marks each

  • Expansion of thoughts (choose any 2 out of 4) — 5 marks each

Candidates must secure a minimum of 60% marks to qualify.

Skill Test (Qualifying Only)

  • Two passages for precis writing — 20 marks each
