Simile

This is a Figure of Speech in which two objects or events are compared by using ‘like’, ‘so’, ‘as’ etc.

यह एक ऐसा अलंकार है जिसमे दो चीजों के बीच में तुलना As, So और Like का प्रयोग कर किया जाता है.

The following are some common Similes:-

  • As cute as a kitten (शावकों जैसा सुन्दर)
  • As happy as a clam (सीपिया जैसा खुश)
  • As light as a feather (पंख जैसा हल्का)
  • As blind as a bat (चम्गादर जैसा अँधा)
  • As bright as a button (बटन जैसा चमकीला)
  • As shiny as a new pin (नए पीन के जैसा चमकीला)
  • As cold as ice (बर्फ के जैसा ठंडा)
  • As common as dirt (धुल जैसा साधारण)
  • As cool as a cucumber (खीरे जैसा शांत)
  • As hard as nails (कील जैसा कठोर)
  • As hot as hell (नरक जैसा गर्म)
  • As innocent as a lamb (मेमने जैसा भोला-भाला)
  • As tall as a giraffe (जिराफ जैसा लम्बा)
  • As tough as nails (नाखून जैसा कड़ा)
  • As white as a ghost (मुर्दे जैसा सफ़ेद)
  • As sweet as sugar (चीनी जैसा मीठा)
  • As black as coal (कोयले जैसा काला)
